A Day at the Beach

Stress, pressure, fast pace,
Moving to quickly from place to place

It’s always time to go
Never given a chance to slow

Lists grow long, time grows short
Can’t there be time for a break of some sort

Harsh words or a passing glance, provide little or no chance
So it builds, and you continue this dance

Giving to all, not accepting yourself
All these things are pushed on you
There is no escape, what will you do

All around need a piece of your soul
You start to break down it’s taking it’s toll

How can all get done? Why does it require so much?
They won’t let me take a break or slow just a touch

I’m in control, I can handle all this
What was that? Could that be what it is?

I make my lists and plan a full day
Allowing others to influence, my way

I’ll just do what I can, maybe a little more
There are plenty of others for “they” to adore

As for now, nothing is out of reach
But, it is time to relax, a day at the beach
